ButtOut Clean Streets Initiative

ButtOut Clean Streets Initiative

We are excited to announce our new pilot project, the ButtOut Clean Streets Initiative, aimed at addressing the prevalent issue of cigarette butt litter in the Junction.

Cigarette butts are the most frequently littered items, often covering our streets and sidewalks and consuming valuable time for our Clean Streets Team, Parkdale Green Thumb (PGT). To counteract this littering problem and preserve the beauty of our community, we have developed a cost-effective solution. We will install smoker receptacles in areas with the highest concentration of cigarette butts. See below for proposed locations:

  • Clandestina Mexican Grill & Bar at 2901 Dundas St W

  • Channel Zero at 2844 Dundas St W

  • Shoxs Billiard Lounge at 2927 Dundas St W

  • Pinot’s Palette at 2866 Dundas St W

  • Indie Ale House at 2875 Dundas St W

  • Dollarama at 2890 Dundas St W

What does this mean for you? No action is required on your part. PGT will take care of installing and maintaining these receptacles. They will ensure that the receptacles are regularly emptied and securely attached to tree guards.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in keeping our neighbourhood clean and beautiful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at operations@torontojunction.ca.
