Over her 30 years in the hospitality industry, Judith Santos witnessed firsthand the profound impact a welcoming environment can have on people, making spaces more enjoyable and leaving lasting, memorable experiences. Using her experience, perspective, and innovation, she started her own business, establishing a vibrant place in the Junction where people could do more than just come in, stay, and leave. Instead, she created a space where they can socialize, network, and meaningfully connect while enjoying great food, live music or a private party. Inside the kitchen, the staff work conscientiously to be as waste-free as possible, reflecting Judith’s commitment to sustainability. Careful attention is paid to preparing dishes, emphasizing local and seasonal ingredients, delivering top-notch flavours and minimizing environmental impact. Starting a business was hard work, but it was worth it for Judith as creating a space from the ground up allowed her to build something of her own without the limitations of working for someone else.

Judith’s love for design can be seen all over MY HOUSE, as every square foot is furnished with reused furniture, repurposed glassware, unique cutlery, and art and trinkets that Judith has collected over the years. Friends and family who visited say they feel the same warmth as they do at Judith’s home. Given what we know already, it won’t come as a surprise that Judith loves antiquing! She loves the search for old pieces of furniture and finds the craftsmanship of antique furniture to be a beautiful art. Travel has also played an essential part in Judith’s story, and the ten years she spent living in Europe are where her love of antiques and unique spaces was ignited. The goal was for the space to be an extension of people’s homes; the name MY HOUSE seemed like a natural fit, and that is what Judith went with! When Opening MY HOUSE in March 2023, Judith created a space that resonates with her values. It is a space where people can have meaningful experiences in a warm and inviting space, where the sum of the memories and connections is more significant than their parts.
