Welcome to Enchanted Teacups: A British Wonderland Illusion Adventure. This 10-by-10-foot Passageway has been transformed into a playful tea-party dreamscape inspired by British rose gardens, heritage textiles, afternoon tea traditions, and the theatrical fantasy of Wonderland. As you step closer, you are invited into a world where teacups appear to float, roses spill across the space, and painted animals seem to gather for a whimsical garden celebration. The mural wraps around the installation with colour and illusion, creating the feeling that the Passageway opens far beyond its actual size. Through anamorphic painting, teacups and a teapot appear to pop outward, turning a flat surface into a lively three-dimensional scene. These include oversized, hand‑painted photo props inspired by Alice in Wonderland, including large playing‑card cutouts and whimsical “Drink Me” bottles. Each card is crafted on sturdy board and embellished with tactile elements such as raised suit symbols, textured borders, and dimensional details that invite guests to touch and interact. The bottles are decorated with painted flourishes, ribbon accents, and bold, easy‑to‑read labels that clearly display the iconic phrase “Drink Me.” Together, these props create a playful, storybook atmosphere that enhances photo opportunities and immerses visitors in this Wonderland‑themed adventure. For visitors with low vision, the Passageway also includes tactile details such as oversized foam cupcakes, lightweight hand-painted props, tea towels, and a rose wall that adds both texture and visual richness. This installation brings together painting, theatre, touch, and tea culture in a warm and welcoming way. It offers a small but immersive environment where fantasy, craftsmanship, and community meet.Description
