Angela Ho
Angela Ho is an Australian-Hong Kong visual artist working under the Ahoy moniker. After living in Hong Kong for 15 years, she is now based in Melbourne. She works with paint, pixels, animation and augmented reality for exhibition and commercial projects. Angela’s work is influenced by storytelling within popular culture, particularly fantasy and science fiction, to reflect societal concerns. And an interest in modes of communication on social media to express emotions and concepts also inspires her work. Her aesthetic reflects mid-century paraphernalia and the animations of Fleischer Studios and early Disney. Angela’s paintings have been exhibited with the following galleries: Outré, Beinart, Corey Helford, Dorothy Circus, the Wassaic Project and BSMT Space in Melbourne, LA, Rome, New York and London, respectively. Her commercial clients for illustration and animation have included Adobe, Slurpee, House Of Vans, GQ, Fast Company magazine and Beat Bites. Her work was featured in the April 2019 print edition of Hi-Fructose Contemporary Art magazine, and she was one of Adobe’s Global Creators in 2021.
