WINDOW WONDERLAND 2025
We’re back! The Junction’s award-winning Window Wonderland returns for its 6th year from November 28, 2025 to February 1, 2026. This free outdoor art walk transforms Dundas Street West into a magical gallery with 20 augmented reality (AR) window murals—each created by a muralist and animator.
The exhibition’s overarching theme is “Journeys Through Winter: Stories of Migration, Memory, and Belonging.” Installations will explore the season as a canvas for stories of resilience, cultural tradition, and the search for home. Muralists and animators are encouraged to explore this theme from their own unique cultural lens.

CALL FOR MURALISTS
KEY DATES & DETAILS:
Compensation: $850 CAD + HST (includes materials, design, painting; MAX mural size ~7×7 ft)
Mandatory AR workshop: hosted by Artivive on Wednesday, July 18, 2025
- Application Deadline: Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET
- Selected muralists will be contacted by June 20.
NOTE: Artists intersted in both roles (muralist and animator) must fill out both application forms.
CALL FOR ANIMATORS
KEY DATES & DETAILS:
Compensation: $750 CAD + HST for a minimum 20-second animation with sound loop. Payment issued post-completion. Animators must submit an invoice for their fees. The artists we collaborate with must agree to receive payment through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or PayPal if their bank is incompatible with our EFT system (Plooto).

- July 18 | Virtual Workshop hosted by Artivive
- August 5 – September 25 | Storyboarding Process
- September 26 | Final Storyboard Due
- September 28 – November 3 | Animation Process
- November 3 | Final Animation Due
- Requirements:
- Applications are open to artists aged 18+ (as of the contract start date.)
- Submissions are limited to English.
- Group submissions by multiple Animators or collectives are not permitted.
- Portfolio must include a link to video examples of past work (on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
