Clandestina Mexican Bar & Grill
Installation Concept
Alebrijes are a vibrant form of Mexican folk art: colourful, surreal creatures of the dream world that turn darkness into beauty. The alebrije in this mural has journeyed across the snowy tundras of the Great White North, symbolizing the blending of Mexican culture with place-making in Canada, and transforming what could be a harrowing journey into one of wonder, discovery, and joy.
